There are many reasons I have started RealPositive.blog – of course the clue is in the title – spreading a little positive thinking can never be a bad thing, but in honesty… it goes far, far deeper than that.
I’ve not always been the most positive of people – not that I was overly negative either, but I certainly could get hung up on things that truly didn’t matter, my focus was all wrong and I’d say overall I was generally glass half empty as opposed to glass half full.
I’ve personally gained so much through my faith system and belief in God which includes prayer, meditation, positive affirmations and just being grateful about what I have in life – the power of perception, gratitude and the joy that comes from that have changed my life, as well I’ve learned to give and give generously from the heart, to live in the present, not just to the future and not live in the past which you cannot change. I’m grateful, I’m thankful but above all else I am truly happy.
Nobody is perfect., we’re all human, we all make mistakes and we all can be particularly hard on ourselves, although equally too hard on others too. I think it’s so easy for us, as people, to be better not bitter, and it’s so easy to get into a blame culture of finger pointing when actually we need to be looking within and looking at self-improvement.
Being positive isn’t just a walk in the park. Life throws things at us continually – and that’s why I wanted to make this blog a little different. It’s ok to acknowledge that things don’t always go right or to plan. It’s ok to acknowledge that life sometimes gives us thorn bushes over roses and lemons instead of lemonade. Life is good – but it can be hard. This blog still acknowledges the hard times but it’s how we learn to deal with it, change our perception and learn to have gratitude that is key, not to mention love.
This blog might not be for everyone but it’s aimed at anyone. Irrelevant of age, sex, gender, ethnicity, culture, religious beliefs, sexuality or anything else with a label. This site might not appeal to every person, but if it can help just one person, then mission accomplished.
Here’s a couple of quotes from one of my favourite books:
“You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all of your heart” – Jeremiah 29:13
“I am the Alpha and the Omega – the beginning and the end.” says the Lord God “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One.” – Revelation 1:8
